Airship
Every player builds and pilots their own airship - the only way to reach new floating islands and the lifeline of the trade economy.
The airship is a personal vessel for exploration and trade, not a warship - Solarpunk has no combat. Storms and wind add texture without breaking the calm. You build it from crafted parts, upgrade it over time, and customise its appearance with paint, decals and structural modules.

Speed
Increases maximum velocity for faster island-to-island travel.
Fuel Efficiency
Reduces energy consumption per unit of distance flown.
Cargo Capacity
Expands the storage grid so you can haul more resources per trip.
Durability
Strengthens the hull against storm damage and rough landings.
Altitude
Raises the flight ceiling, unlocking access to higher-altitude islands.
Maneuverability
Improves turning radius and responsiveness, especially in strong winds.
Flight mechanics
Physics-based flight with altitude, pitch and throttle controls. Wind affects handling in real time, and an optional simplified mode removes wind for a relaxed experience.
Docking system
Each island has one or more docking points. Approach at low speed, align with the dock, and the airship locks into place automatically - then explore, access cargo and refuel.
HUD readouts
The cockpit HUD shows altitude, speed, fuel, wind direction and the current weather state. Wind speed is in km/h; weather labels appear in real time.
Technical components
A battery-powered motor drives the ship. Hull-mounted solar panels recharge mid-flight in clear weather, and the energy system ties into your base grid when docked.
