Trees & Forestry
All 5 species with their real drop tables, growth times and planting rules - extracted from the release game files.
Oak
WinterA winter-island tree: 7 guaranteed logs when mature plus up to 2 bonus logs at 50% each. Grows in about 27 minutes - its sapling only takes root in the winter biome.
Pine
WinterThe biggest yield in the game: 9 guaranteed logs when mature. Slowest growth at about 33 minutes, winter biome only.

Birch
TemperateTemperate tree with the fastest growth - about 15 minutes from sapling to mature, 7 guaranteed logs.

Maple
TemperateTemperate tree, about 20 minutes growth. Chopped half-grown it drops only 2 logs - wait for maturity.

Alder
TemperateTemperate tree with 15-minute growth like Birch and the best leaf chance among temperate species.
Every species grows through 4 stages; full growth takes 15 to 33 minutes depending on the tree. The loot depends on when you chop: a young tree only returns its sapling and a few sticks, a half-grown tree drops some logs, and a mature tree gives the full yield of 7-9 logs plus leaves and a sapling. Sticks only ever drop from young trees.
Chop
Use an axe. The loot table depends on the growth stage - mature trees give by far the most logs.
Plant
Place saplings on open ground - not on farmland. Oak and Pine saplings only take root in the winter biome.
Automate
The Forester bot chops and replants trees automatically within 3.5 m of its dock.
How do I plant trees in Solarpunk?▼
Every chopped tree returns a sapling. Place it on open ground - not on farmland. Alder, Birch and Maple saplings grow in any biome; Oak and Pine saplings only take root in the winter biome. Full growth takes 15-33 minutes depending on species.
Which trees grow on the winter islands?▼
Oak and Pine - the snow islands have only these two species in the wild, and their saplings can only be planted there. Alder, Birch and Maple are the temperate species.
What do trees drop when chopped?▼
A mature tree drops 7 guaranteed logs (Pine: 9) plus bonus logs at 50%, leaves and its sapling. Sticks only come from young trees - chopping early sacrifices logs.
