Airship
Every player builds and pilots their own airship - the only way to reach new floating islands and the lifeline of the trade economy.
The airship is a personal vessel for exploration and trade, not a warship - Solarpunk has no combat. Every player owns one, and it is the only way to reach the other 15 islands. A battery-powered motor (2,000 capacity stock) drives the ship, solar panels recharge it in flight, and six upgrade tracks plus six hull skins shape it over a run.
Stats and mechanics extracted from the release build's game files.

Engine
Thrust and acceleration. The stock ship tops out at 50 speed with a +25 boost on demand.
Battery
Power reserve for the motor. Base capacity is 2,000 - drained by throttle, refilled by panels or docking.
Solarpanel
On-hull recharge rate while flying in daylight. Clear weather charges fastest.
Hull
Damage capacity before critical failure. The stock hull absorbs 1,000 damage; storms and collisions chip away at it.
Resistance
Weather resilience. Reduces how hard wind gusts and storms shove the ship around.
HUD
Cockpit readout tier - speed, weather, wind and time displays improve with each level.
Flight mechanics
Throttle, lift, pitch and roll, with a flight ceiling of 40,000 units. Wind pushes the ship in real time; Simple Flight mode is on by default and tames the handling for relaxed travel.
Docks & automatic flight
The Dock is needed to build, upgrade and retrieve an airship. The Advanced Dock is the powered upgrade: connected to your grid, it lets you approach at higher speed and enables automatic flight to the dock.
Damage & repair
Storm hits and collisions accumulate hull damage. A Repair Kit (5 Iron) patches the ship; after a full breakdown, rebuilding the wreck costs 10 Iron, 3 Cloth and 1 Airship Technical Components.
Skins
Six hull skins exist in the release build: Standard, Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink and Black. Skins are visual only - no stat changes.
